WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Smith Reynolds Airport is getting state grants totaling $1.8 million to improve the taxiway.

The grants will go toward replacing the pavement that leads to the hangars for corporate aircraft.

State officials said in a news release the work will extend the overall infrastructure health of the airport for many years.

Work will consist of grading, patching and overlaying the current pavement.

The state got the money from an FAA grant it received last September.
