Area of reported rape near UNC campus (WTVD)

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Police in Chapel Hill said a woman reported being sexually attacked near the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill campus.

WTVD reported that the woman told police the incident happened around  2 a.m. Thursday, just a few hours after the Duke-UNC basketball game.

The woman reported the incident happened near a dumpster behind Ackland Art Museum.

Police said all the woman has been able to tell them is that she was in an alley when two men confronted her. She said she went to the nearby Cosmic Cantina, and someone called for help.

The school usually issues alerts about crime and emergencies, but school officials said they didn’t issue an alert because there was not enough information to reflect a threat.
