Greensboro officer injured in single-vehicle car wreck

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A Greensboro police officer was injured after his car flipped onto its roof Tuesday night on High Point Road near Alamance Road.

Officer P.T. Hannon, Jr. lost control of his vehicle around 9:45 p.m. while responding to a false alarm of a robbery at the Rite Aid at Mackay and High Point roads, authorities said.

Hannon is an entry level patrol officer in the Southern division. Officials said Hannon was treated and released for minor injuries. His car is totaled.
