High Point University to Add 116 Jobs

High Point University announced Thursday it will add 116 new jobs by August.

The additional jobs will give HPU 1,126 employees. New positions include 50 faculty for undergraduate and doctoral programs, administrative staff, food service, security and athletics, the university said in a news release.

The university is the city's eighth largest employer, according to the High Point Economic Development Corporation.

The number of employees at HPU has tripled since 2005. Plans include 400 additional jobs over the next five years, according to the university.

Jobs are currently posted on the HPU website at www.highpoint.edu/jobs. Additional positions will be posted throughout the year.
