Guilford Co. Man Wins $200K in Lottery

A Guilford County man received a winning $200,000 lottery ticket as an early birthday present from his daughter, officials said.

William Sharon, of Stokesdale, will get $136,001 after taxes. He said he plans to share some of it with his family.

Officials said the winning Extreme Green scratch-off lottery ticket was bought at the King's Crossing BP on N.C. 68. in Stokesdale.

He has reportedly already claimed the prize money at the lottery headquarters in Raleigh. Officials did not say when the ticket was purchased.

Guilford County players won more than $187.1 million in prizes and local retailers earned more than $24.2 million in commissions on ticket sales, officials said.
