REIDSVILLE, N.C. — A Reidsville couple was arrested in connection with a day-after-Christmas home invasion in which deputies say they made off with more than $18,000 worth of property.

According to a news release, Brandon L. Overton, 25, and his girlfriend, 22-year-old Mary Beth Thomas, were arrested Saturday night in connection with a burglary that happened in the early-morning hours of Dec. 26 at a home on Windemere Drive.

Deputies said an elderly man who lived at the home slept through the entire home invasion, during which the suspects made off with a 59” television, $2,500 in cash, and the man’s white 2004 Lexus LS430.

The victim’s Lexus was recovered a week after the incident, deputies said.

Both suspects were charged with burglary. Overton was also charged with common law robbery in connection with a separate incident that happened on Dec. 24.

No other details about either incident were provided.
