World champion bull rider Jerome Davis is hoping that a Duke researcher can figure out how to get him and other disabled people to walk again.

The brain still sends out signals to move extremities, even if they are no longer there. So Dr. Miguel Nicolelis is trying to figure out how to make those signals respond in a pair of robotic legs.

Nicolelis said the entire neurological handbook will be rewritten in the next few years.

His work on the Walk Again Project will likely take another decade before it is made available to most people.
