WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP)— Two adults and three children were displaced after a home fire Sunday afternoon in Winston-Salem.

The incident happened at about 2:30 p.m. at 1319 North Jackson Ave. Firefighters say the situation was under control by about 3:45 p.m.

No injuries were reported, but officials say the two-story building received heavy smoke damage. The fire’s cause is still under investigation.

The property received about $28,600 worth of damage and the home’s contents about $10,000 worth of damage.

Firefighters used multiple hoses and an aerial ladder to combat the flames. Red Cross officials responded to handle the displaced residents.

Thomas Jackson was identified as the owner and occupant of the building. Further details were not provided.
