Rich Brenner retiring from FOX8

HIGH POINT, N.C. (WGHP) — Rich Brenner, the beloved sports anchor at FOX8 WGHP, is retiring after nearly 21 years.

He as been honored with the prestigious Silver Circle Award by National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences for his quarter century of outstanding service.  Rich has also won three Southeast Regional, a National Iris Award, and the Charlie Harville award.

“Rich and I have been colleagues for more than 20 years and he’s a friend as well as a member of the FOX8 Family” said WGHP General Manager Karen Adams. “I sincerely appreciate all his dedication to FOX8 Sports for more than two decades and wish him all the best and to enjoy lots of time with his gorgeous grandson and teaching.”

Rich is planning to stay in the area and hopes to continue teaching broadcasting part-time at Elon University as well as public speaking engagements.  His last day will be April 18th.
