    Winston-Salem standoff suspect out of hospital; faces firearm, drug charges

    WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — The suspect in Friday’s nearly 10-hour standoff in Winston-Salem has been released from the hospital and faces numerous charges. Larry Jason Chambers, 36, of North Wilkesboro, was hospitalized after stabbing himself in the chest at the end of a standoff with police at Ardsley Street and Lockland Avenue. Chambers is charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, larceny and numerous drug charges involving methamphetamine and marijuana.     WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A nearly 10-hour standoff between Winston-Salem police and an armed man barricaded in a shed came to an end around 8 p.m. The suspect was identified as Larry Jason Chambers, 37.
