Julie Luck

Evening News Anchor

An award-winning broadcast journalist, Julie Luck co-anchors FOX8's 5pm, 6pm and 10pm newscasts weeknights with Neill McNeill.

The Emmy-nominated anchor/reporter joined the FOX8 news team in 2005, bringing major market experience, professionalism, and diversity. She won several awards for her in-depth series on teen pregnancy and has been voted favorite local newscaster in numerous polls. Newscasts, co-anchored by Julie and Neill, have won prestigious Emmys for breaking news and best newscast.

A broadcast journalist with almost 15 years of on-air experience, Julie has packed up her belongings many times while climbing the media markets across the country. Julie anchored the weekend news in San Francisco before coming to WGHP. She's also worked in Portland, OR, Florence-Myrtle Beach, SC and Bangor, ME.

In addition to her duties in front of the camera, Julie spends her time representing FOX8 at charitable functions. One of her more memorable events was a ballroom dancing competition which helped raise thousands of dollars for the American Cancer Society. After months of practicing, Julie won first place, beating several other local celebrities.

Born in Southern California to Chinese and Filipino parents, Julie was raised in Orange County. She graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a bachelor's degree and earned her master's degree in mass communications from Emerson College in Boston. Julie is also a former Miss Asian California and Miss Congeniality.

An avid sports fan, Julie watches college and NFL football games in her spare time. In fact, she was a cheerleader while attending UC Berkeley. She also enjoys jogging, cooking, traveling and spending quality time with her husband and four-legged children, Emma the bulldog and Rory the cocker spaniel.
