    Teen charged with DWI after crashing in Burlington post office

    BURLINGTON, N.C. – Police have charged a teen driver who crashed into the U.S. Post Office building on Maple Avenue Saturday night. Police said that George Desimone, 17, was inhaling an intoxicating substance when he crashed his 1996 Mercedes into the post office, causing $50,000 worth of damage. Desimone was released to his parents with a written promise to appear in court, said police. The post office will temporarily close until repairs can be made.

    House fire displaces family of four in Jamestown

    JAMESTOWN, N.C. – Multiple agencies responded to an early morning house fire on Pearce Drive that left a family homeless. Captain Brandon Cobb with Pinecroft Sedgefield Fire Department said that the family of four were at home at the time of the fire, but were able to make it out safely.     BURLINGTON, N.C. – A 2-year-old boy fell from a moving vehicle on Alamance Road Friday afternoon, according to the Burlington Police Department.     Two NC teens hospitalized after explosion

    YADKIN COUNTY, N.C. – An explosion at 1617 Speer Bridge Rd. in Yadkin County sent two teenagers to the hospital Saturday night. According to Asst. Chief Barry McLain, the two teens were in the yard when the explosion occurred in an outside barrel fire. Chief McLain said that it is suspected that aerosols in the barrel caused the explosion, but that has not been determined at this time.
