    ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, N.C. — A standoff between a man and police ended peacefully early Thursday morning in Stoneville when the man surrendered. Officers were alerted to a man who was firing shots into the air outside a house in the 200 block of Thomas Street around 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
