Paul Choate joined the FOX8 family as a web producer in October 2013.

He moved to FOX8 from High Country Press, a newspaper in Boone where he worked first as a general assignment reporter and later as the managing editor.

Originally from the small mountain town of Sparta, Paul has called North Carolina “home” his entire life and loves living in the Piedmont Triad.

Paul is a graduate of Appalachian State University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism.

When he is not finding and creating content for MyFOX8.com and our social media platforms, Paul is probably cheering on his beloved Los Angeles Lakers, Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Braves.

Paul lives in Greensboro with his fiancée, Kristina, and their rambunctious dog, Jack.

    GREENSBORO, N.C. — A two-vehicle crash shut down I-40 in both directions from Martin Luther King Jr. Drive to East Lee Street on Wednesday afternoon.     1 killed in accident near Mebane

    ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. — A woman was killed in a vehicle accident near Mebane on Thursday morning. Sandra Feaster, 53, was traveling on Kimrey Road near where it meets N.C. 119 at 11:09 a.m. when her car ran off the road, struck a tree and overturned. Feaster was killed in the accident. Troopers suspect speed was a factor in the accident.

    NC day care employee arrested for inflicting severe head injury on toddler

    SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. — A day care worker has been charged with inflicting a serious injury on a child. According to WHNS, officers conducted an investigation into child abuse at Humpty Dumpty Nursery. Officers identified a 10-month-old child with a severe head injury. Wendi Hargrove, 35, was an employee at the day care. She was arrested and taken into custody under a $75,000 bond. The child was treated at First Health Moore Regional Hospital.

    RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. — Four people were charged with possession of methamphetamine and various other crimes on Tuesday. Jodi Rae Hall, 34, of Asheboro; Ronnie Dewayne East, 32, of Liberty; Mark Alan Bullins, 51, of Asheboro; and Jessica Lee Atkins, 34, of Asheboro, were each charged with methamphetamine-related drug violations.
