Paul Choate joined the FOX8 family as a web producer in October 2013.

He came to FOX8 from High Country Press, a newspaper in Boone where he worked first as a general assignment reporter and later as the managing editor.

Originally from the small mountain town of Sparta, Paul has called North Carolina “home” his entire life and loves living in the Piedmont Triad.

Paul is a graduate of Appalachian State University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism.

When he is not finding and creating content for MyFOX8.com and our social media platforms, Paul is probably cheering on his beloved Los Angeles Lakers, Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Braves.

    NEW YORK – Jahlil Okafor, Duke’s star in the 2014-15 season, was selected by the Philadelphia 76ers with the third overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft.     SURF CITY, N.C. — An 8-year-old boy suffered what appeared to be a shark bite on Wednesday afternoon, the Surf City Police Department told WECT. Officials said the incident happened near 700 S.     THOMASVILLE, N.C. — Crews responded to the scene of a boarding house fire in Thomasville on Wednesday afternoon.
