Paul Choate joined the FOX8 family as a web producer in October 2013.

He came to FOX8 from High Country Press, a newspaper in Boone where he worked first as a general assignment reporter and later as the managing editor.

Originally from the small mountain town of Sparta, Paul has called North Carolina “home” his entire life and loves living in the Piedmont Triad.

Paul is a graduate of Appalachian State University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism.

When he is not finding and creating content for and our social media platforms, Paul is probably cheering on his beloved App State Mountaineers, Carolina Panthers, Los Angeles Lakers and Atlanta Braves.

    KERNERSVILLE, N.C. — A pedestrian was struck by a driver who was allegedly texting while driving on Wednesday afternoon, according to a news release from Kernersville police.     WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Winston-Salem police have made an arrest in the murder of a teen over the weekend. Christopher Marcus Wilson Jr., 22, of Winston-Salem, is charged with murder, according to a news release fro Winston-Salem police.     Archdale neighborhoods evacuated after chemical reaction at A&D Environmental

    ARCHDALE, N.C. — Multiple neighborhoods were evacuated after a chemical reaction at an Archdale environmental plant Monday evening.     I-40 West in Winston-Salem reopens after tractor-trailer accident

    WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — All lanes of Interstate 40 West have reopened on the west side of Winston-Salem following an accident involving a tractor-trailer. The accident happened near Exit 188 (I-40 Business/U.S. 421) at about 3:25 p.m., according to the NCDOT. A tractor-trailer overturned, the NCDOT said. The lanes reopened shortly after 5 p.m. There is no word on injuries at this time.
