Paul Choate joined the FOX8 family as a web producer in October 2013.

He came to FOX8 from High Country Press, a newspaper in Boone where he worked first as a general assignment reporter and later as the managing editor.

Originally from the small mountain town of Sparta, Paul has called North Carolina “home” his entire life and loves living in the Piedmont Triad.

Paul is a graduate of Appalachian State University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism.

When he is not finding and creating content for MyFOX8.com and our social media platforms, Paul is probably cheering on his beloved Los Angeles Lakers, Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Braves.

Paul lives in Greensboro with his fiancée, Kristina, and their rambunctious dog, Jack.

    Update — Power has been restored to the more than 2,300 Duke Energy customers who lost power in Greensboro and Jamestown Tuesday night.     2 hospitalized after tractor-trailer accident in Davidson County

    DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. — Two people were hospitalized Monday afternoon following an accident along southbound Interstate 85. The accident happened at about 2:20 p.m. at mile marker 86, according to NCDOT. According to Highway Patrol, the accident involved a tractor-trailer. Two people were taken to Lexington Medical Center. The ramp from Belmont Road is closed and is expected to reopen by 3 a.m. Tuesday, NCDOT said.
