Paul Choate joined the FOX8 family as a web producer in October 2013.

He came to FOX8 from High Country Press, a newspaper in Boone where he worked first as a general assignment reporter and later as the managing editor.

Originally from the small mountain town of Sparta, Paul has called North Carolina “home” his entire life and loves living in the Piedmont Triad.

Paul is a graduate of Appalachian State University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism.

When he is not finding and creating content for MyFOX8.com and our social media platforms, Paul is probably cheering on his beloved Los Angeles Lakers, Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Braves.

    STAMFORD, Conn. — A Connecticut woman was arrested after she allegedly keyed two people’s cars, but misspelled an insult. According to WFSB, 20-year-old Shannon Csapilla believed her boyfriend was involved with one of her girlfriends. Police said Csapilla punctured the woman’s tires and keyed the word “wore” into the woman’s car.     ASHEBORO, N.C. — Police are searching for a man accused of rape and kidnapping. Darren Wayne Gentle, 47, of Asheboro, is wanted for one count of first-degree rape and two counts of first-degree kidnapping. Police said Gentle in known to frequent south Asheboro.     DAVIE COUNTY, N.C. — Deputies are investigating a fatal dog attack in the southern part of Davie County. The incident happened at about 7 p.m. Monday at 235 Clark Road near Cooleemee.     3-year-old hospitalized after near-drowning reported in Davie County

    DAVIE COUNTY, N.C. — A 3-year-old has been taken to the hospital after a near-drowning incident in Davie County. According to Davie County Communications, the incident was reported at 4:12 p.m. at 1644 Junction Road in Davie County near Cooleemee. Davie County Communications said CPR was performed at the scene on a 3-year-old boy. The child was taken to Brenner Children’s Hospital in Winston-Salem. There is no word on the child’s condition.

    SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. — A woman was killed and two other people were injured in a dog attack on Saturday. According to WYFF, the incident happened at about 6 p.m. Saturday. Porsche Cartee, 25, died from dog bites to the head and body.
