Paul Choate joined the FOX8 family as a web producer in October 2013.

He came to FOX8 from High Country Press, a newspaper in Boone where he worked first as a general assignment reporter and later as the managing editor.

Originally from the small mountain town of Sparta, Paul has called North Carolina “home” his entire life and loves living in the Piedmont Triad.

Paul is a graduate of Appalachian State University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism.

When he is not finding and creating content for MyFOX8.com and our social media platforms, Paul is probably cheering on his beloved Los Angeles Lakers, Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Braves.

Paul lives in Greensboro with his fiancée, Kristina, and their rambunctious dog, Jack.

    DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. – A child was injured after being hit by a vehicle Friday afternoon. According to the Lexington Dispatch, the accident happened on Woodgreen Drive at 3:52 p.m. Trooper C.     Pedestrian struck by a vehicle at Aycock and Walker in Greensboro

    GREENSBORO, N.C. — A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle on Thursday night. According to police, the accident happened at the intersection of Aycock Street and Walker Avenue near the UNCG campus.     Lanes reopen after accident closes westbound I-40 at US 52 in Winston-Salem

    WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Lanes have reopened after all lanes of westbound Interstate 40 were closed Wednesday afternoon at Exit 193/U.S. 52 due to a vehicle accident. The accident happened at about 1 p.m. NCDOT said all lanes were closed as of 2:16 p.m. As of 2:41 p.m., the lanes have been reopened. There is no word on injuries at this time.

    CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Carolina Panthers released their 2015 schedule on Tuesday evening. According to the team’s official website, the Panthers will open the regular season on Sept. 13 in Jacksonville taking on the Jaguars. One highlight of the schedule is this year’s Thanksgiving Day game. The Panthers will head to “Jerry World” (AT&T Stadium) to face the Dallas Cowboys.     Dog owner arrested in November death of man in Rockingham County

    MADISON, N.C. — The owner of a pack of dogs accused of contributing to the death of a man visiting Rockingham County from Mexico was arrested Friday morning.
