Paul Choate joined the FOX8 family as a web producer in October 2013.

He moved to FOX8 from High Country Press, a newspaper in Boone where he worked first as a general assignment reporter and later as the managing editor.

Originally from the small mountain town of Sparta, Paul has called North Carolina “home” his entire life and loves living in the Piedmont Triad.

Paul is a graduate of Appalachian State University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism.

When he is not finding and creating content for MyFOX8.com and our social media platforms, Paul is probably cheering on his beloved Los Angeles Lakers, Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Braves.

Paul lives in Greensboro with his fiancée, Kristina, and their rambunctious dog, Jack.

    OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. — A dad feared he was having a stroke Wednesday morning after eating several brownies his teenage daughter had baked the night before.     BURLINGTON, N.C. — A man is in custody accused of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl. Jose Romon Corea, 33, of Burlington, is charged with first-degree statutory rape. On Wednesday, Burlington police were notified by the Alamance County Department of Social Services that their office was investigating an incident involving a situation where a 12-year-old girl had been sexually assaulted.     GREENWOOD, S.C. — A woman convicted of prostituting a 15-year-old girl was sentenced on Thursday. Cacy Bailey, 35, of Greenwood, S.C., was convicted of two counts of promoting the prostitution of a minor.     Lanes reopen after accident on eastbound I-40 in Greensboro

    GREENSBORO, N.C. — Greensboro firefighters, EMS and police responded to a two-vehicle rollover on eastbound Interstate 40. The accident happened at 3:45 p.m. near Exit 213/Guilford College Road. No injuries were reported. According to NCDOT, all lanes have reopened.

    Pedestrian struck, killed in Lexington

    LEXINGTON, N.C. — A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle in Lexington Tuesday night, according to Lexington police. The accident happened at about 10:10 p.m. in the 1700 block of Cotton Grove Road. The pedestrian was struck while crossing Cotton Grove Road by a vehicle traveling southbound. The pedestrian has not been identified.
