Paul Choate joined the FOX8 family as a web producer in October 2013.

He moved to FOX8 from High Country Press, a newspaper in Boone where he worked first as a general assignment reporter and later as the managing editor.

Originally from the small mountain town of Sparta, Paul has called North Carolina “home” his entire life and loves living in the Piedmont Triad.

Paul is a graduate of Appalachian State University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism.

When he is not finding and creating content for MyFOX8.com and our social media platforms, Paul is probably cheering on his beloved Los Angeles Lakers, Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Braves.

Paul lives in Greensboro with his fiancée, Kristina, and their rambunctious dog, Jack.

    OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. — A dad feared he was having a stroke Wednesday morning after eating several brownies his teenage daughter had baked the night before.     BURLINGTON, N.C. — A man is in custody accused of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl. Jose Romon Corea, 33, of Burlington, is charged with first-degree statutory rape.     Lanes reopen after accident on eastbound I-40 in Greensboro

    Pedestrian struck, killed in Lexington

    LEXINGTON, N.C. — A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle in Lexington Tuesday night, according to Lexington police.
