Paul Choate joined the FOX8 family as a web producer in October 2013.

He came to FOX8 from High Country Press, a newspaper in Boone where he worked first as a general assignment reporter and later as the managing editor.

Originally from the small mountain town of Sparta, Paul has called North Carolina “home” his entire life and loves living in the Piedmont Triad.

Paul is a graduate of Appalachian State University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism.

When he is not finding and creating content for MyFOX8.com and our social media platforms, Paul is probably cheering on his beloved App State Mountaineers, Carolina Panthers, Los Angeles Lakers and Atlanta Braves.

    NEW YORK — The Charlotte Hornets selected Kentucky’s Malik Monk with the 11th pick in the NBA Draft Thursday night. The 6 foot 3 inch shooting guard averaged 19.8 points per game in his only season at Kentucky. Monk also contributed 2.5 rebounds per game and 2.2 assists per game.
