Paul Choate joined the FOX8 family as a web producer in October 2013.

He came to FOX8 from High Country Press, a newspaper in Boone where he worked first as a general assignment reporter and later as the managing editor.

Originally from the small mountain town of Sparta, Paul has called North Carolina “home” his entire life and loves living in the Piedmont Triad.

Paul is a graduate of Appalachian State University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism.

When he is not finding and creating content for and our social media platforms, Paul is probably cheering on his beloved Los Angeles Lakers, Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Braves.

Paul lives in Greensboro with his fiancée, Kristina, and their rambunctious dog, Jack.

    Pedestrian killed in Business 85 accident in High Point

    HIGH POINT, N.C. — A pedestrian was killed in an accident on Business 85 between the Main and Brentwood streets exits Friday afternoon. According to High Point police, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and killed. The accident was reported to police at 4:11 p.m. Crews blocked off both southbound lanes and one northbound lane of Business 85 following the accident. The lanes reopened at 6:45 p.m., according to NCDOT.
