    Clemmons business damaged by fire

    CLEMMONS, N.C. — A Clemmons business was damaged by a fire on Thursday afternoon. Unique Refinishing, located at 6350 Cephis Drive, caught fire around 3:30 p.m. Thursday. One firefighter suffered muscle spasms while he was pulling hoses. He is resting at home. The owner of the business suffered minor burns from the flash fire. The fire was started when static electricity ignited flammable vapors in a paint shop. The damage to the business is estimated at $40,000.

    Hornets’ Jeffrey Taylor sentenced to probation for domestic abuse

    CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte Hornets player who pleaded guilty to domestic violence was sentenced to probation and must complete a course on domestic violence, WSOC reports. Jeffrey Taylor, 25, pleaded guilty Tuesday to one count of domestic assault and battery and one one count of destruction of property under $200 as part of a plea deal. Both are misdemeanor charges.     HIGH POINT, N.C. — Police are investigating a stabbing in High Point Thursday evening. A man was stabbed at the corner of Furlough Avenue and Meredith Street.     KING, N.C. — Police are investigating a robbery at the State Employees’ Credit Union in King on Tuesday evening. At approximately 5:20 p.m. a suspect entered the Credit Union and took an undisclosed amount of money.
