Paul Choate joined the FOX8 family as a web producer in October 2013.

He came to FOX8 from High Country Press, a newspaper in Boone where he worked first as a general assignment reporter and later as the managing editor.

Originally from the small mountain town of Sparta, Paul has called North Carolina “home” his entire life and loves living in the Piedmont Triad.

Paul is a graduate of Appalachian State University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism.

When he is not finding and creating content for MyFOX8.com and our social media platforms, Paul is probably cheering on his beloved App State Mountaineers, Carolina Panthers, Los Angeles Lakers and Atlanta Braves.

    CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A man who was shot during protests in Charlotte Wednesday night has died, sources tell WBTV. The man, identified as 26-year-old Justin Carr, was shot at about 8:30 p.m. and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Chief Kerr Putney initially said he had died.     Multiple vehicles involved in accident on U.S. 311 in Forsyth County

    FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. — Multiple vehicles were involved in an accident on eastbound Interstate 74/southbound U.S. 311 in Forsyth County Monday afternoon.
