Paul Choate joined the FOX8 family as a web producer in October 2013.

He came to FOX8 from High Country Press, a newspaper in Boone where he worked first as a general assignment reporter and later as the managing editor.

Originally from the small mountain town of Sparta, Paul has called North Carolina “home” his entire life and loves living in the Piedmont Triad.

Paul is a graduate of Appalachian State University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism.

When he is not finding and creating content for MyFOX8.com and our social media platforms, Paul is probably cheering on his beloved Los Angeles Lakers, Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Braves.

    Gunshot victim found in Burlington bank parking lot, suspect sought

    BURLINGTON, N.C. — Police are investigating after a gunshot victim was found at a Burlington bank. The man was found shortly after 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the parking lot of SunTrust Bank, located at 2221 Maple Ave. Burlington police officers on the scene said they do not believe the shooting took place where the victim was located.
