Paul Choate joined the FOX8 family as a web producer in October 2013.

He came to FOX8 from High Country Press, a newspaper in Boone where he worked first as a general assignment reporter and later as the managing editor.

Originally from the small mountain town of Sparta, Paul has called North Carolina “home” his entire life and loves living in the Piedmont Triad.

Paul is a graduate of Appalachian State University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism.

When he is not finding and creating content for MyFOX8.com and our social media platforms, Paul is probably cheering on his beloved Los Angeles Lakers, Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Braves.

    HIGH POINT, N.C. — Police have released a photo of a vehicle believed to be involved with a homicide last month. On Sept. 12, officers responded to 1109 Burton Ave. and found Jauhan Bethea, 34, in the front yard bleeding from a gunshot wound to the head.     Update — All eastbound lanes of Business I-40 (U.S. 421 South) have reopened. WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — An overturned motorhome has closed all eastbound lanes of Business I-40 (U.S. 421 South) near the Stratford Road exit, according to police.
