Paul Choate joined the FOX8 family as a web producer in October 2013.

He moved to FOX8 from High Country Press, a newspaper in Boone where he worked first as a general assignment reporter and later as the managing editor.

Originally from the small mountain town of Sparta, Paul has called North Carolina “home” his entire life and loves living in the Piedmont Triad.

Paul is a graduate of Appalachian State University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism.

When he is not finding and creating content for MyFOX8.com and our social media platforms, Paul is probably cheering on his beloved Los Angeles Lakers, Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Braves.

Paul lives in Greensboro with his fiancée, Kristina, and their rambunctious dog, Jack.

    Crews respond to house fire in Archdale; officials call fire ‘suspicious’

    ARCHDALE, N.C. — Crews responded to a house fire in Archdale on Tuesday that officials with the Guil-Rand Fire Department call “suspicious” in nature. The fire was reported at 5: 30 p.m. in the 6000 block of Sunset View Drive. Officials say the fire started in an outbuilding and spread to a nearby residence. No injuries were reported. Guil-Rand Fire Department officials did not elaborate on what made the fire “suspicious.”

    Lane reopens on southbound US 52 in Forsyth County after fire

    FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. — A fire closed one lane of southbound U.S. 52 in Forsyth County on Tuesday afternoon. According to NCDOT, one lane was closed at Exit 114/Germanton Road at 4:02 p.m. Our FOX8 crew on the scene says firefighters have the fire under control.     DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. — A man was arrested Saturday following a domestic disturbance in northern Davidson County just outside the Winston-Salem city limits. Charles Dewayne Brewster Jr., 23, of Winston-Salem, is charged with communicating threats, property damage and being drunk and disruptive.
