Paul Choate joined the FOX8 family as a web producer in October 2013.

He moved to FOX8 from High Country Press, a newspaper in Boone where he worked first as a general assignment reporter and later as the managing editor.

Originally from the small mountain town of Sparta, Paul has called North Carolina “home” his entire life and loves living in the Piedmont Triad.

Paul is a graduate of Appalachian State University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism.

When he is not finding and creating content for MyFOX8.com and our social media platforms, Paul is probably cheering on his beloved Los Angeles Lakers, Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Braves.

    Woman injured in accident on Business 85 in High Point

    HIGH POINT, N.C. — A woman was injured in an accident on northbound Business 85 Friday afternoon. The accident happened near the South Main Street exit. A vehicle merging caused her SUV to sideswipe a guardrail, go down a ditch and hit a tree. The extent of her injuries is not clear. Business 85 is currently down to one lane.

    LOS ANGELES — A settlement worth nearly $140 million was announced Friday between the Los Angeles Unified School District and the families of 82 victims of a former elementary school teacher who fed semen-laced cookies to his students.     DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. — Two men are in custody in connection with a vehicle theft in Davidson County.
