    ARCHDALE, N.C. — A Celebration of Life service will be held for Anna Smith, the High Point native and Appalachian State student who was found dead Saturday in a wooded area of Boone. Smith was reported missing by her roommate on Sept. 3. Preliminary autopsy findings released Wednesday indicate the 18-year-old died of asphyxia.     Fire destroys mobile home in Kernersville

    KERNERSVILLE, N.C. — An early morning fire destroyed a mobile home in Kernersville Wednesday. Crews responded to the scene at 111 Cedar Grove Lane around 3 a.m. The structure appeared vacant and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
