Disabled woman killed in Greensboro house fire

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- A disabled woman was killed Monday morning in a house fire in Greensboro, according to Dwayne Church with the Greensboro Fire Department.

The fire happened at a home in the 4000 block of Walker Avenue. The call came in at about 11:26 and the fire was under control by 12:10 p.m.

Twenty-eight firefighters and 15 units responded to the scene.

Church said the woman’s husband was not home at the time of the fire.

Church said the investigation could continue on into Monday evening.
