DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. — A man was arrested Saturday after allegedly assaulting his wife and punching a 14-year-old, according to a news release from the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office.

Herrera Noe Amaya, 50, is charged with assault on a female, simple assault, three counts assault by pointing a gun and six counts child abuse.

Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance in the 100 block of Sailway Road on Saturday.

Deputies determined Amaya assaulted his wife and pointed a pistol at her and several other people in the residence, the release said.

Another altercation happened where members of the family tried to restrain Amaya, which lead to him punching the 14-year-old, the release said.

Amaya was placed in the Davidson County Jail under no bond due to a domestic violence hold.
