Man kills patron at North Carolina bar, turns gun on self

ASHEVILLE, N.C. — A man shot and killed another man inside a North Carolina bar and then turned the gun on himself, according to police.

Colton Wayne Halford, 26, of Candler, is accused of fatally shooting Anthony Andrew Roper, 28, of Fairview, Friday night at a bar in Asheville.

Officers were called to Just One More Bar shortly after 9 p.m. in reference to reports of a gunshot victim.

Arriving officers found the victim suffering multiple gunshot wounds to the upper torso inside the bar.

The suspect was found in the parking lot nearby suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

Witnesses said the suspect shot the victim and then turned the gun on himself, Asheville police said in a press release.

The victim was taken to Mission Health System where he died of his injuries. The suspect survived his injury and is currently in critical condition at Mission ICU.

The investigation is ongoing and police have not released details about a motive in the shooting.
