School bus carrying 9 students involved in wreck in Winston-Salem

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A Winston-Salem/Forsyth County school bus carrying nine students was involved in a crash with another vehicle Wednesday morning, according to a press release.

At about 7:33 a.m., police responded to the crash at the intersection of Whittier Road and Legare Drive.

The school bus was operated by 64-year-old Kimrey Lee Ownes and the car by 17-year-old Gilia Ayelem Hager. The cause of the collision is under investigation

The school bus services students at Ibraham Elementary School and no injuries were reported.

The investigation is ongoing and no charges have been filed.
