2 injured in Winston-Salem shooting

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Two men are in the hospital after a shooting in Winston-Salem Tuesday night, according to a news release.

At 8:35 p.m., police responded to 3862 Hartford St. in reference to a shooting. At the scene, officers discovered Davoris Howie lying on the ground with an apparent gunshot wound. He was taken to Baptist Hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.

Howie and another man arrived at the residence when they were approached by two armed suspects, investigators say. Howie then fired shots at the suspects before they fired back and fled.

One of the suspects is now being treated at Baptist Hospital for a serious but non-life-threatening injury.

Police believe the incident was not random.
