Man shot during home invasion in High Point

HIGH POINT, N.C. — A man was shot during a home invasion in High Point early Thursday morning, according to a police report.

Officers responded to the 800 block of Hopewell Road at 12:52 a.m. in reference to a robbery.

The victim’s girlfriend told police her boyfriend had been shot.

The victim was transported to High Point Regional Hospital with a gunshot wound to the thigh.

According to the report, the victim told police he was robbed of $400 in cash by three men wearing masks. The door to his residence was also damaged during the incident.

Another woman in the residence said she was robbed of her cellphone.

There is no word on the victim’s condition but the High Point Enterprise reports that his injury was not life-threatening.
