Police searching for Reidsville man accused of kicking pan of hot grease on ex-girlfriend

REIDSVILLE, N.C. — Reidsville police are searching for a man accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend, according to a news release.

Joseph Lamon Childs, 30, of Reidsville, is wanted on charges of first-degree burglary, first-degree kidnapping and assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, the release said.

At about 4 a.m. on Nov. 29, Reidsville officers responded to the 1500 block of Vance Street on a reported aggravated assault.

Upon arrival, officers found a woman suffering from third-degree burns to one side of her body.

The victim told officers her ex-boyfriend, Childs, kicked a pan full of hot grease on her.
