Police searching for suspect who robbed Winston-Salem bank

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Winston-Salem police are searching for a man accused of robbing a local bank Monday morning.

Around 9 a.m., police responded to the Wells Fargo Bank located at 100 N. Main St. on a reported robbery. According to a news release, one suspect entered the bank and gave the teller a threatening note that demanded money.

The suspect then fled the business with an undisclosed amount of cash.

No employees or patrons were injured.

Winston-Salem police released surveillance images of the suspect and said he is described as a white male, 5 feet 11 inches to 6 feet 2 inches tall, wearing a Denver Broncos hat, gray long sleeve shirt and “acid washed” distressed jeans.

The investigation is ongoing.
