7-year-old girl dies after NC home sprayed with bullets, police say

SALISBURY, N.C. – A 7-year-old girl died and her grandmother was injured early Sunday morning after someone fired shots at her house in Salisbury, police told WSOC.

When officers responded to the shooting around 4:20 a.m. on Harrel Street, they found the girl and her 56-year-old grandmother with gunshot wounds.

The grandmother had been shot in the leg and was taken to the hospital. The girl died at the house. No arrests have been made.

The home’s siding was peppered with bullet holes, and the bedroom windows were smashed.
