Man found shot, stabbed on Yadkin River Bridge in Davidson County

DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. – A man is in critical condition after being found shot and stabbed on a bridge in Davidson County near the Yadkin River.

The unidentified 19-year-old victim was found on the Davidson County side of the Yadkin River Bridge on US 49.

Rowan County authorities were originally called to the incident at about 12:30 a.m. Saturday after callers reported seeing the injured victim.

The victim was found stabbed in the face and had been shot multiple times, according to Davidson County Sheriff David Grice.

The victim was eventually transferred to Charlotte Medical Center to undergo surgery. He’s currently in critical condition.

The Yadkin River Bridge was shut down from about 2 a.m. to 10 a.m.

The investigation is ongoing.
