Woman suffers life-threatening injuries in Greensboro stabbing; suspect arrested

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A woman suffered life-threatening injuries in a stabbing Wednesday morning in Greensboro.

Officers responded to the 500 block of Franklin Boulevard after a report of a stabbing.

Upon arrival, officers located 49-year-old Jenifer Anderson suffering from several stab wounds to her chest, arm and leg, according to a news release from Greensboro police.

Anderson was transported to Moses Cone Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The suspect was identified as 57-year-old Gerome Anderson, the release said. He was apprehended at the Great Stops gas station on East Market Street in Greensboro.

Anderson has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. He is currently confined in the Guilford County Jail under a $150,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court Thursday.
