Person falls 110 feet at Cascade Falls in Wilkes County

WILKES COUNTY, N.C. — A person fell down a waterfall in Wilkes County Friday, according to Nathan Gatlin with the North Carolina Forest Service.

The person fell about 110 feet at Cascade Falls, which is located in E.B. Jeffress Park along the Blue Ridge Parkway in western Wilkes County.

The incident happened at about 6:30 p.m.

As of 7 p.m., the Miller’s Creek Fire Department was working to rescue the person, Gatlin said.

No other information has been released.
