GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Downtown Greensboro Inc. is preparing for the 28th annual Festival of Lights on Dec. 2.
Though it's not even December, President Zack Matheny said they've been planning for the holiday event since August.
"We've got new ornaments to spice up and freshen up the decorations. We've got a large snow globe that families can get in and take their picture together. We've got the Express Employees Professionals sponsoring a Clydesdale ride, so they'll gives families and folks tours throughout downtown. We're going to have trolleys that will get people moving throughout downtown. We've got 30 entertainment folks lined up on Elm Street -- its going to be great," Matheny said.
With the help of the City of Greensboro staff, 100 six-foot snowflakes, 38 wreaths, bows and more 150 yards of rope lights will decorate the streets.
They're expecting 25,000 people if not more to take part in the festivities.
WGHP FOX8 News is a proud sponsor of the Festival of Lights.
The tree lighting is expected to take place at 6:59 p.m.
