Old Dominion, High Point Rotary Club joins The Salvation Army to help fight hunger

HIGH POINT, N.C. -- For some families, the holidays can be a hard time.

That's why Old Dominion Freight Line and the Rotary Club of High Point have come up with a great way to help those families.

On Friday, they are building a truck out of cans.

"This is something our club has done in the past," said Tammy Children with the Rotary Club of High Point. "With the insecurity of food in High Point, we thought this could be a great way to have some fun and bring awareness and hopefully promote the concerts."

To solidify their joint efforts, Old Dominion and the Rotary Club of High Point gave a check worth $23,000 to the Salvation Army.
