Man arrested after woman hit by vehicle in Winston-Salem

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A man has been arrested after a woman was hit by a vehicle during an argument over the weekend.

Dante Lorenzo Ross, 30, of Winston-Salem, is charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, according to a news release from Winston-Salem police.

Shequoina Lavette Henry, 30, of Winston-Salem, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after the incident was reported shortly after 12 a.m. Saturday in the 2700 block of Patrick Avenue.

The victim and the suspect had been in an argument and the suspect hit her with a vehicle, Winston-Salem police said. Police said the suspect and victim knew each other.

Ross was taken into custody on Monday and placed in the Forsyth County Detention Center with no bond allowed.

On Saturday, Henry was listed in critical condition with life-threatening injuries. There is no update on her condition.
