Man dressed as cowboy robs Winston-Salem bank

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A man described as in his 60s and dressed as a cowboy robbed a Winston-Salem bank Wednesday afternoon.

At 1:12 p.m., officers responded to the Mechanics & Farmers Bank at 770 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. after a report of a robbery, according to a news release from Winston-Salem police.

The suspect threatened a teller before providing the teller with a note demanding money, according to the release. He fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.

No injuries were reported.

The suspect was described as a man approximately 60 to 65 years old wearing a beige cowboy hat, brown western style shirt with white stitching and brown cowboy boots. The suspect was approximately 6 feet 2 inches tall and 220 pounds. He had facial hair and wore glasses.
