Deputies looking for man accused of trying to rob Rockingham Co. store

ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, N.C. – Deputies in Rockingham County are looking for a man accused of trying to rob a convenience store at gunpoint.

Authorities responded to Two Brothers Food Mart at 6338 N.C. Hwy. 770 at about 10:15 a.m. Sunday in reference to the incident.

The clerk told the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office that the suspect approached her behind the counter holding what appeared to be a gun inside of a bag and demanded money.

The suspect tried to get money from the register but then left the store after a Black SUV arrived at the gas pump, deputies said in a press release.

The suspect has been described as wearing blue jeans with pants or shorts underneath and a black long sleeve sweatshirt under a white T-shirt. He was also wearing black gloves with white stripes or lettering and white tennis shoes with black stripes, possibly Adidas.
