LEXINGTON, N.C. – One person is dead after a crash involving a motorcycle and a truck Saturday night in Lexington, according to troopers.

Authorities were called to the wreck at about 7:45 p.m. at 3559 N.C. Highway 150. Upon arrival, they found 55-year-old Barry Woosley dead on impact, troopers said.

Woosley was driving north on Highway 150 when he traveled left of center and struck a Ford pickup head-on in the southbound lane. Troopers believe he was trying to pass another vehicle.

The truck, which was driven by 33-year-old Brandon Sandy, ran off the road and struck a utility pole. He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash is still under investigation.
