Greensboro gas station employee injured during armed robbery

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Police are investigating after a gas station employee was hit by a suspect’s handgun and a customer robbed late Wednesday night.

At about 10:56 p.m., officers responded to the Speedway on 3610 Wendover Ave. in reference to a robbery. Upon arrival, police determined that two armed males entered the gas station and took a wallet from a customer before hitting an employee with their handgun. The gun fired as a result of the contact.

Both suspects fled and the employee was treated on-scene for minor injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
