MILLERSVILLE, Pa. — A Pennsylvania college student is facing charges after he allegedly put bleach in his pregnant girlfriend’s water bottle in an effort to harm the unborn child.

Theophilous Washington, 20, and his girlfriend were in his room Thursday night when he suggested she have a bottle of water from his refrigerator, according to AOL News. When the female returned to her dorm, she started to vomit and called 911.

In a statement, Washington admitted to the crime. Prosecutors said he stated earlier that he did not want the girlfriend to have the child.

“The charges are twisted and the intended result nothing short of horrifying,” said District Attorney Craig Stedman.

He said the doctor examined the girlfriend and the baby, and both are believed to be unharmed.

Washington is charged with one count of attempted murder of an unborn child and another count of reckless endangerment.

His bail is set at $1 million and the investigation is ongoing.
