3 of 100 ‘lucky pennies’ worth $1,000 each found in Charlotte
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Three people in Charlotte discovered one of the 100 “lucky” pennies worth $1,000 each.
The pennies were found at the Charlotte Convention Center, Bakersfield restaurant, and Romare Bearden Park, according to WSOC.
The pennies, which are part of a promotion by Ally Financial, demonstrates the value of the penny and social media.
The coins are slightly larger than regular pennies and there is an Ally Financial logo on one side with “100,000 cents” on the other.
People in Austin, Texas, Charlotte, Chicago, Denver, Detroit, Los Angeles, Miami, New York City, San Diego and Washington, D.C. can try to find one of the 100 “lucky” pennies.
Clues to penny locations will be shared on Ally’s social media channels during the campaign.
