STOKES COUNTY, N.C. – A Stokes County man who had been missing for 11 days was found dead in a wrecked vehicle, according to his wife.

Billy Anders’ wife Patty says they found her husband dead Thursday in his wrecked vehicle on Highway 66 in Stokes County.

They believe he wrecked the night he went missing.

Anders, 48, was last seen on the evening of Oct. 7 after having dinner with his wife and children at Frank’s Pizza in Rural Hall, according to investigators and family.

“He was supposed to pick our 15-year-old up in Pilot Mountain after dinner,” said Anders’ wife Patty. “That was the night the storm was coming and he was in a car with one wiper and one headlight.”
