Father’s song honoring 7-month-old son who passed away goes viral
HATTIESBURG, Md. — A Maryland father’s heartwarming song honoring his 7-month-old son who passed away has gone viral.
Jamarcus Moody’s son had been in the hospital and given only two more weeks to live, according to WDAM. But Oct. 6, doctors thought he was responding well, and released him from the hospital.
One day later, tragedy struck, and his parents found him unresponsive.
The video, which was shared on Facebook by Moody’s cousin Quentin Watts on Oct. 17, shows the grieving father making the best out of a tragedy.
“I was really just down, and thinking about giving up on everything,” Moody said. “I come from the streets. The devil told me it was my fault, it was because I was in prison and because of the things I did in my life. That I caused this.”
That’s when he said God whispered in his ear to make the video.
Since the video was posted, Moody said he has received an outpouring of support from parents, friends and family, attempting to help him through the tough time.
The video has more than 18,000 shares, 14,000 likes, and 3,000 comments in just four days.
There’s a praise on the inside
that I can’t keep to myself
A holler stirring up
From the depths of my soul
So excuse me if I seem a little giddy
Or maybe even strange
But praise is the way I say thanks
