Car crashes into utility pole in High Point, driver treated for gunshot wound

HIGH POINT, N.C. – A car crashed into a utility pole on Friday, according to M.G. Foster, a battalion chief with the High Point Fire Department.

Foster said the incident caused utility wires to drop to the ground on Meredith Street. The car did not hit a nearby church.

The driver was treated at the scene for a gunshot wound, according to Captain Joe Beasley with the High Point Police Department.

The incident remains under investigation.
