Tractor-trailers collide head-on on U.S. 421 in Winston-Salem

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Two tractor-trailers collided head-on on U.S. 421 in Winston-Salem Wednesday night.

The accident happened at 6:57 p.m. in the northbound lanes near the Martin Luther King Jr. Drive exit.

Winston-Salem police officers on the scene told FOX8 photojournalist Kyle Gould the accident happened as a result of one of the tractor-trailers going the wrong way on the highway.

Traffic has slowed as a result of the accident and Winston-Salem police are encouraging drivers to exit onto Fifth Street.

There is no word on injuries.
