Police looking for person accused of shooting, killing 26-year-old NC woman

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are looking for the person they said shot and killed a 26-year-old woman in Plaza Midwood overnight, according to WSOC.

Officers told Channel 9 that around 2:45 a.m. they responded to a call of shots fired on The Plaza, near Central Avenue.

When they arrived, police found Katherine Jones suffering from a gunshot wound, lying in a driveway behind a real estate business.

Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene. Investigators have not made any arrests or released a motive for the shooting.
