WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – A Winston-Salem firefighter recently rescued several small kittens trapped in a storm drain.

The Winston-Salem Fire Department was called to the Reynolds Park recreation center to assist animal control with the incident, according to Ricky McCutchen, battalion chief with the Winston-Salem Fire Department.

The City of Winston-Salem posted an image of a firefighter rescuing one of the tiny kittens to Twitter on Thursday afternoon.

McCutchen said animal control took the kittens, which will eventually be available for adoption once they are taken care of.
