BURLINGTON, N.C. – A man accused of shooting and injuring another man at a Burlington convenience store earlier this year has been arrested.

Officers responded to the Fairway One Stop at 1382 S. Church St. at 6:39 p.m. March 9 in reference to a shots fired call.

Arriving officers found the victim had been shot in the arm. He was taken to the hospital where he was treated and released.

The suspect is accused of entering the store and starting an altercation with his girlfriend. The victim said the suspect pulled out a handgun and began firing inside the store and he pushed the suspect out of the store where a struggle took place and the suspect ran away.

Gillis Jr. has been placed in the Alamance County Jail under a $100,350 secured bond.

The victim, Gary Lamont Baldwin, 24, of Burlington, gave police a false name, according to Burlington police. He has outstanding misdemeanor warrants for failure to appear.
