Winston-Salem fund provides grants to local nonprofits that help young girls and women

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Helping women and young girls is the mission of the Women's Fund of Winston-Salem.

Each year, the group pulls its money together to provide grants to nonprofits that help women and young girls.

The fund, which is a branch of the Winston-Salem Foundation, plans to award $117,000 to four local nonprofits this year. In the last nine years, it has awarded 85 grants and more than $1.2 million to local organizations.
