Video shows Davidson County school board member allegedly stealing political signs

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Davidson County school board candidate Ryan Davis caught current school board member Neal Motsinger allegedly stealing his campaign signs Monday night.

Davis, who says his signs have been going missing since he announced his campaign run, wanted an answer to their disappearance and decided to place a deer camera close to them.

"We went out last night to place signs and I had a deer camera," he said. "We go down the road, turn around to put more signs out and we see him [Motsinger] doing a u-turn around where we placed them."

He and several friends followed the school board member home and confronted him about the incident. When he did, Motsinger tried to smack the phone out of his brother's hand and accidentally hit him.

"This has cost me a ton of money, but I'm going to keep trucking along," Davis concluded.

Davis pressed charges Tuesday afternoon and has a Nov. 2 court date.
