Pedestrian struck, killed on U.S. 29 in Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle on U.S. 29 in Greensboro Tuesday morning, according to a news release from Greensboro police.

At 11:45 a.m., officers responded to the 3600 block of U.S. 29 North in reference to a motor vehicle crash.

Michael Hollifield, 39, of Greensboro, was walking east across U.S. 29 North when he was struck by a vehicle, police said.

Hollifield died as a result of injuries sustained from the crash.

Impairment and speed were not factors in the crash, police said, and there is no word on charges.
