Man airlifted to hospital after overnight shooting in Thomasville

THOMASVILLE, N.C. — Thomasville police are investigating after a man was shot in the stomach early Thursday morning.

At about 1:08 a.m., Davidson County Communications received a 911 call from a person who reported hearing gunshots and seeing a person running through their backyard. About ten minutes later, police were alerted that a gunshot victim had arrived at Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center.

After a preliminary investigation, they concluded the shooting took place at 301 South Street.

Officials say the victim was airlifted to Wake Forest Baptist Hospital where he is currently listed in stable condition. The victim’s identity is being temporarily withheld pending the notification of next of kin.
