Woman murdered by husband while on the phone with 911, police say

MACOMB TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- Police say a Michigan woman was shot and killed by her husband while she was on the phone with 911.

In a recently released audio recording, 38-year-old Ebony Byrom is heard telling her husband to leave, but he kept refusing, according to WXYZ.

The husband, identified as 44-year-old  Hal Byrom, then shot her, turned the gun around and shot himself. At the time of the incident, Ebony's 16-year-old son was in his bedroom playing video games.

Hal Byrom, who survived the suicide attempt, is now facing first-degree murder and felony firearms charges.
