Man stabbed with pocketknife at Dixie Classic Fair

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Two people were arrested after a man was stabbed with a pocketknife at the Dixie Classic Fair.

Adam Lowery, 25, of Walnut Cove, and Tyler Handy, 17, of Winston-Salem, face charges in connection to a stabbing that injured Brandon Wayne Spencer, 23, of Winston-Salem.

Winston-Salem police responded to a fight at the fair in the area of the Education Building shortly after 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

The two suspects and the victim had been arguing and it turned into a fight. Lowery allegedly stabbed the victim in the abdomen with a pocketknife.

The victim was taken to a medical facility with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

Police said the suspects and victim knew each other and the incident was pre-arranged. There was not a threat to the public at large, according to police.

Lowery faces various charges including assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and was jailed under a $10,000 bond.

Handy charged with affray and released on a written promise to appear.

The investigation is ongoing and further charges are possible.
