ASHEBORO, N.C. -- Once again, Bia Rich was awaken in the middle of the night with a phone call.
“The alarm company was calling, they said, 'There’s broken glass and the officers are waiting for you outside,'” she said.
It’s not the first time Rich has received a phone call about broken glass outside of her restaurant.
She is co-owner and chef of Bia’s Gourmet Hardware in Asheboro.
The latest incident happened around 2:15 a.m. Thursday.
Surveillance video shows a person throwing bricks at the restaurant.
Three windows in front of the restaurant were shattered.
“We have been vandalized for the third time in the last three months,” Rich said.
She says it’s the same person who keeps coming back.
The person has returned shortly after the windows are fixed.
Rich owns the restaurant with her husband.
After the first incident, they upgraded the security system to add cameras outside, which were able to capture the vandalism from different angles.
The challenge is that it’s difficult to see any facial features of the person in the video.
Bia’s Gourmet Hardware was still open for business Thursday after clearing glass from the sidewalk and boarding the windows.
The hope now is that the owners can get a good night’s sleep without getting that call again.
“We definitely want him caught,” Rich said.
Asheboro police are in the process of gathering any additional surveillance video that may be available from businesses in the area.
There haven’t been any reports of any other businesses being vandalized.
